How to Journal + 10 Journaling Prompts

~"Journaling is like whispering to one's self and listening at the same time"~

Journaling is one of my favorite pass times and hobbies, and is very relaxing. The whole journaling concept could be kind of hard to grasp at first, so here is a quick guide to get you started!
-Journal-
Any notebook will work! Make sure you find one that speaks to you, or inspires you. I use the Piccadilly Essentials Line Ruled Journal. I got it at Barnes & Nobles Booksellers!

-Pens-
You can use almost anything to write in your journal! I normally use pens. I have been using the Inkjoy Ballpoint Pens. They are really smooth, and I enjoy using them a lot.

I have recently loved using these adorable gel pens from AliExpress. I'm not sure what the proper name is, but I love them! The only thing is that they do smear sometimes, which can sometimes be a pain. :(
These Papermate Flair tip pens are awesome for journaling too! They don't ghost or bleed much, and they are comfortable to write with.
-Writing-
Now for the most important part-writing! You can write about almost anything, but here are some prompts if you're having trouble getting started.

-10 Journaling Prompts-

1. Write about an alter-ego//write about your dream life in 3rd person perspective.
2. Describe everything around you. Even if it is just your bedroom. Try describing everything as vividly and excitingly as possible.
3. Write about how you look. What hairstyle are you rocking at the moment? What brand of leggings are you wearing? Does your dress have daisies or tullips printed on them?
4. Write a letter to your past/future self.
5. Talk about the current book you are reading.
6. Write a list of habit's you want to start/continue doing, and a list of bad habits that you want to quit. Then, write how you can remove or start certain habits.
7. Write a letter to someone (or yourself) about your feelings. You don't have to send this to that person.
8. Talk about your day, even if it was the most boring one. (The little moments count too!)
9. Find old photographs of yourself and write about how you were feeling/what happened that day.
10. Make a to-do list/in depth graph of everything you need to do today, and a schedule.
I hope this gave you inspiration to journal, and I'll see you next time!
